From 18 to 19 December 2017, Baiba Rivža was attending “The 2017 EU Agricultural Outlook” conference in Brussels to deliver a speech about the 4D4F project during the session “Research and innovation” and to share the potential positive results of modern technologies and dairy sensor introduction in Latvian dairy farms. During the conference the most important problems in EU agricultural sectors and the possibilities to increase the farm resilience and sustainability were discussed. One of panel discussions addressed the performance of EU policy and its connection with farming sector.
In that discussion, emphasis was put on the technology and data collection for all purposes and the importance of the independent advice in the process of the development and research. One of main conclusions of the conference was that we need strong interaction between farmers, researchers, manufacturers, non-governmental and governmental institutions to achieve higher results and give better return of EU investments.
