Time: 14.00–15.00 (CET) November 21, 2018

Modern livestock farming aims at optimizing animal welfare in combination with high productivity. Modern technology and development of new and improved tools for monitoring behaviour and health of individual animals and herds open up for high precision in prevention of disease and illness. Improved decision support systems are introduced with the help of sensors and data harvesting. In the Horizon 2020-funded project Data Driven Dairy Decisions for Farmers – 4D4F – farmers, farm advisors, technology suppliers, knowledge exchange professionals and researchers have created a European Community of Practice (COP) where they exchange knowledge and experience and collected and communicate best practices.

To sum up, we will present some of the results and experiences on an open webinar on November 21. The concept of warehouse of technology will be introduced, as well as an example of the standard operation procedures for using new technology. A Dutch dairy farmer in Sweden will give his view on how data driven decision support improves the precision of his herd management.
